Last year, 16 ISD students dedicated their time and energy to planning meaningful lessons and activities for our service partners at Kazinczy Public School and St. Matrona’s Retirement Home. For an entire year, they met weekly to prepare and design initiatives that combine learning with service.
Their efforts came to life with the first visits: Kazinczy Public School on 18th September and St. Matrona’s Retirement Home on 20th September. These experiences allowed our students to share knowledge, practice collaboration, and build relationships across communities and generations.
The work, however, does not stop here. Over the course of the academic year, ISD students will participate in 12 further service activities, each one deepening partnerships, strengthening skills, and reinforcing the values of empathy, responsibility, and engagement.
At ISD, service learning is an integral part of education — not only enriching academic knowledge but also nurturing active, caring members of our community.
