Safeguarding

ISD is committed to protecting students from physical, mental, and social abuse and to providing a safe and secure environment.

All adults and staff of ISD have a full and active part to play in protecting our students from harm. Any allegations or signs of abuse or neglect of a child will be followed up instantly.

The key points of our child protection program are:

  • a child protection policy that all employees must follow;
  • all employees go through a police clearance;
  • our staff receives dedicated training on safeguarding and is trained every year;
  • a dedicated school counselor is responsible for providing age-appropriate lessons to help them understand personal safety, their rights, and whom to seek for help when they feel such rights have been violated;
  • ISD has a dedicated school counselor for Elementary and for Middle/High School;
  • ISD employs a school psychologist who is available to all community members.
