Middle School

With an emphasis on personal responsibility, our students take ownership of their learning as they inquire, act, and reflect. They make practical connections between their studies and the real world.

At ISD, Middle School includes Grades 6-8. With international-mindedness at the forefront, educators and students collaborate to discover various approaches to teaching and learning. Subjects include Language and Literature in English or Hungarian, Language Acquisition in English or Spanish, Individuals and Societies, Mathematics, Integrated Sciences, Visual Arts, Music, Physical and Health Education, and Design. Students also engage in positive action involving service to their communities.

Learning in Middle School

Framed by the International Baccalaureate’s Middle Years Programme, our challenging curriculum provides students with opportunities to learn for understanding as they make connections between subjects to life outside the classroom. They learn by doing and experiencing. The development of communication and collaboration skills prepare our students for success in future education and beyond.
