A Harmonious Blend of Nature
and Education
ISD is located at the edge of the Great Forest of Debrecen, a nationally protected nature space. The semicircular shape of the building symbolizes protection, unity, as well as the developmental stages of growth. Kindergarten operates at one end of the building and as students grow and mature, they continuously move to the other end of the building.
In addition to the clean interiors, the exteriors, sports fields and gardens blend perfectly with nature to reflect a symbiotic relationship between education and nature. Students usually spend much time outdoors, and the Great Forest’s outdoor spaces allow for a developing understanding of the environment and the important role we play in its protection.
State-of-the-Art Facility and a Vibrant City
The school building can accommodate up to 500 students. The classrooms are fully equipped with the opportunity for teachers to flexibly set up the rooms according to the given learning project. The school offers an auditorium with 250 seats for performances, learning celebrations and community building. ISD’s extensive sports hall, roof-top basketball court, outdoor running and athletics track offer the possibility for a full range of sports education. The intellectual heart of the school is the PYP and the MYP Libraries where the seeds of passionate reading are planted. Furthermore, it is part of the curriculum to learn how to access, evaluate and use information efficiently.
Access
ISD is situated in the suburban area of Debrecen, specifically in Pallag. Public transport option to reach the school includes taking bus number 13, which has a stop near the school and starts from the city center of Debrecen. ISD can be accessed either via the main road number 4 or Pallagi út.
