ISD Foundation Launches Free Speaking Course for Local Students

On 4th December, we successfully launched our free English Speaking Skills Development course. Almost half a hundred hardworking, outstanding students from Debrecen and the surrounding area got the opportunity to develop their English language skills.
It is a high priority for our school to support local communities and organize such mutually prosperous initiatives that support the development of our school, city and region together.
Through these courses, students not only develop their English language and speaking skills, but also have the opportunity to experience our experience-based, interactive teaching method.
The sessions are led by our skilled and experienced teachers and in addition, each group has an ISD student assistant who also supports and assists the students in their English language practice. Students and teachers from more than 30 nations study together in our school, giving students the opportunity to learn about the importance of international mindedness and acceptance. In this way, students not only develop their language skills, but also gain valuable experiences that will help them to communicate interculturally and navigate successfully in the world.

The free language course also gives the opportunity to the participants to learn about the IB (International Baccalaureate) learner profile. The development of these attributes is embedded in the ISD curriculum and helps students to successfully build their future careers. The IB learner Profile emphasises key competences and values such as critical thinking, ethical behavior, communication skills and interpersonal skills. These skills are essential to thrive in the modern world and so the course provides local students with the opportunity to deepen and develop these skills.
We are pleased to have taken on this initiative and is proud to contribute to the development of students’ English language skills, as well as to their intercultural experience and IB personality profile. This is our priority to design and organize initiatives that are mutually beneficial to all participating communities. We learn from each other, get to know each other’s cultures, needs, and in doing so we grow together.
